I was laid off in feb and only got 16 weeks severance. Without my quarterly vesting rsu’s I am barely scraping by. The government needs to step in because severance was supposed to cover the gap between employment. Here are my monthly expenses. This is normal for all of us not living hcol areas like nyc: Morgage of primary 5br house: $6,000 Utilities (heat, water, electric, internet): $400 Groceries: $400 Mortgage payments of vacation home: $1,400 Affirm payments of peloton: $150 Affirm payments of infrared 6 person sauna: $370 Gym membership: $300 Dining out budget: $800 Monthly long weekend vacation: $400 Monthly reoccurring buy of tsla stock: $480 All in that’s $12,000/mo. I had to cut my insurance while I find a new job. I just started searching this month and can’t find an affordable interview coach. Any advice? Previous tc: $260k base, $300k rsu New tc: $10,000/mo severance after tax and $1,000/mo unemployment. Yoe: 14 years product manager
Stop buying stocks, skip the vacation and leave out dining. Downgrade your gym if you can't just stop temporarily. That's 1800 right there.
This isn’t the fuedal ages. How can I be mentally ready for interviews if I am living like a serf?
OP is trolling
This is satire, right? Hard to tell sometimes on this app…
Please don’t call my life a joke. I am coming to blind for help
Yes, this is absolutely satire/trolling. Government needs to step in, vacation home, peloton, 6 person sauna, Tesla stock It’s obviously just looking to push people’s buttons. Not very subtle though.
Yes, government please pay for these thx
Agreed 🙏🙏🙏
I think most are heading to Wendy’s or Albertsons for premium post FAANG comp. Ask someone here for a referral…
I have a call with the night manager of local Albertsons tomorrow. Does anyone know if they ask lc hard?

You call that barely scraping by?
You wouldn’t? I have to sell my AMC shares monthly just to cover basic costs of living
How about stop buying testa shares? Where is your emergency fund?
You know that most companies give less than 1 month severance or none?
I guess that’s true if we count in all of China, russia and the congo
WTF, buying TSLA stock???
Yeah, people on Twitter tell me it’s safer than a bank
Safer than svb and fr
Made me chuckle 👍🏻
You living in a mcol with a lifestyle of hcol. A 6k mortgage can get you a more than decent place
Yeah it is a decent place. I have one bedroom for the peloton and another for the sauna
This is a troll
