I just got two offers Unity: 170k base + 400k stock (vested in 4 years, 1 year cliff then each quarter) Startup: 240k all cash What do you think is better? Current TC: 170k all cash. YOE: 10 TIA
So 270k average TC vs 240k cash, I’d probably do cash without any additional context
How can anyone help/suggest based on limited information. Name of company, role, title all help provide more color for the community to provide a more informed suggestion
Is stock public? does it vest monthly / quarterly / yearly?
400K stock from which company ? That makes a big difference
Depends on who’s stock.
Take the all cash and invest the diff in S&P500
If the stock is from a big tech well established company then go for it. Otherwise, stick with 240k cash
I just added some additional information
Do you believe in the metaverse? That’s a more risky stock, I would probably go cash but I think Unity has potential if the metaverse/ar/vr take off. Depends on your risk tolerance.

Tech companies to avoid as a white guy?
I’ll take 240k cash and invest 70k in diversified portfolio.
