Behavior interview question

Folks I know there is a 10-15 minute chitchat at every PS. For me, with 15 yoe and staff level, the recruiter indicated that there will be behavior followed by coding question. My question: the small talk, intro at the beginning, is that sort of behavior question interviewer want you gauge you?
