At work we have to watch these set of recorded training session videos. Training occurred at one our foreign locations and they recorded it via Teams. The trainer has a thick, and I mean thick non American/British intonation. So hard to watch and understand. But most of us are just nodding and telling our higher ups thank you for the opportunity to train for the new software. Because it is the polite thing to do.
If it is truly hard to understand the person speaking because of an accent, “PC” doesn’t mean you can’t say you have trouble understanding. If it’s because you don’t like their accent, where they’re from, or that they’re different that’s another story.
I think what op is saying is in today’s environment it is tough to point out that you have trouble understanding without coming off as racist
I often find the people that talk about “PC” culture, often lack social skills or they say actual racist/douche bag things the whine about “PC”.
Awww poor westerner having to understand other accents. Do you think everyone non-American is born with the understanding of American accent? A lot of people have to work to understand your too.
Awww you called me a Westerner. I finally belong.
How do you know OP is a westerner? Seems judgmental and racist which in on par with the general attitude at google
Cool story bro.
