Good potassium intake from 🍌
No benefits IMHO. Amazon and Microsoft are great entrance points into FAANG and beyond but if you got into any of them - optimize for TC and mental health, no need to burn out early. Here the choice is clear Edit: the reason I mention Microsoft is that while it is not part of FAANG - learning and tech is on par and in some cases better. And your resume will have same clout as any of FAANGs
Where did you work before DB?
Msft, Google, shitty startup
Absolutely, it makes sense to go to Amazon once you are L7 or higher.
DanAndersX - why does it make sense to go to Amaon for l7 and higher?
Engineering being better is definitely debatable. Obviously project dependent, but the engineering work generally was more real world applicable at Amazon. You get exposed to a wider stack too. Company outlook is definitely a concern if you are looking for a few years out. I'd probably recommend still going to Meta overall. It looks better on your resume for sure.
Pay, promo, perks: Although pay is closer now that Amazon adjusted bands and the meta stock falling. Promo and perks also easily go to meta Wlb: depends. My friends at meta worked way harder than I do Engineering: team dependent. AWS has high engineering standards since so many people depend on the services, but there’s def some random teams that suck Both honestly provide similar if not the same resume value. You’ll get interviews everywhere at both places and if you don’t it’s because you’re lacking certain work or experiences
None
Haven't worked at Amazon but I imagine that their engineering standards are better
