Best Car With Low TC

Next month is my birthday and I’ve found living in Seattle without a car is very boring because I can only hang out within my neighborhood (Capitol Hill). Getting out of this place to go hiking, play golf, ski, or just to a different neighborhood is so painful (Uber is fucking expensive, the bus is too slow, walking takes forever). A lot of people told me that I wouldn’t need a car in Seattle but I’ve found out that they were so freaking wrong (those people probably just stay within a 1 mile radius of their home 24/7). Oh, and going out on dates looks so awkward with Ubers lol (having to stand outside with your date like an idiot waiting for a taxi is so lame even if the girl doesn’t say so, taking the bus with a girl just to go hike is even more lame, renting a car means having to walk and wait to show ID and have to bring it back in time……lol majority of the time is spent standing somewhere waiting with your date 😂). I’m tired of living like a stupid idiot. Now that my birthday is coming up next month, I’d like to gift myself a nice car with my low TC lol. Which car is best for someone in my position? Any suggestions? [NO, I DON’T WANT A $5k BEATER CAR. I want something proper] TC: 180k 401k: 110k Liquid Cash in HYSA: $60k HSA Account all on JEPI: $10k making $70 every month in dividends 😂 Individual Account: $50k in MSFT stock

Honda Civic (even used), or Chevy bolt if you could charge somewhere

No electric because I live in an apartment with no charging spot.

Cruise Gif-Is-Jif May 8

Yeah just get a Honda (checkout civic hatchback, a lot more practical)

Mazda3

This is a great cheap car for Seattle. Easy to park in the tiny spots and navigate on the narrow ass streets lol.

You’re enlightened my dude. I wasted 4 years in Seattle without a car. Life changed after getting it. Get a BMW with low miles if possible. Check the certified ones at the dealer. Or a low miles used M2 Competition. Go into Bimmerpost to check some. Not the best for the snow, but I used to change to winter tires and was alright.

Only buy a BMW if you enjoy wasting time at the mechanic. Though, it'll get you better dates. So, there is a tradeoff.

Truveta 00000s May 8

Those cars are for lease bcos they are great <59 mileage

Fannie Mae rht3453 May 8

Why do you have to get a new car? For the price of brand new civic, get a 3 year old Honda Pilot/passport. Your date, who won't know shit about cars, will be more impressed.

Verizon gcffc May 8

You gotta be blind to not know a difference between a new civic and an old pilot

Fannie Mae rht3453 May 8

Most chicks know shit about cars and can't tell a 2021 Honda Pilot apart from a 2024 Honda Pilot. They do consider a Civic, even a brand new one, a low status car.

Toyota Camry used with less than 50k miles

Looks like a toy car

Toys are fun. Plenty of time to drive practical cars once you have a family.
