Best Location to Live - Chicago or Boston or Philly or NJ/NY

Hi folks, I currently live in Bay Area, working in the Health Industries practice. I am considering moving out of Bay Area due to high cost of living. Thinking of Dallas or Chicago or (open to suggestions). I travel a lot but in future I want to get on to a local job in Health Industry. Looking for thoughts and suggestion from this group.

Have lived in Boston, Chicago, and lower westchester. Liked them all but all are very different. With a family now, I prefer Chicago, largely bc of affordability. Boston is awesome as one huge educational Mecca that has lots of arts and history but is not that big. Live near a T stop or you will hate it because traffic and drivers and parking are horrid. Weather is crappy in the winter and humid in the summer. Fall is fabulous. And you’re within a few hours of many other cities and sites. NY/NJ is really expensive. Huge metro area no shortage of things to do. City is vibrant but is a different culture than elsewhere. They are the center of their universe. Chicago is the least expensive large city I’ve lived in. Winter is long and cold but summer everyone rushes outside to furiously enjoy the few months of fabulous weather. Smaller tech industry than some other places but still good startup culture and if you like finance there is a ton of that. Suburbs are still pretty easy access to city and cheaper for families.

Consider Seattle area also. East side (Bellevue, Kirkland,...) is great place to live.
