My husband and I work on different coasts and are considering moving jobs just so we can be in the same city and finally be together. We want to choose a city that has a good number of tech companies (we are both in tech), decent standard of living (not super expensive like Cali), affordable housing and overall a good place to start a family and settle down. What places do you suggest and why?
To all the Seattle lovers, I’m curious about how the weather affects you. I hear it’s always gloomy.
Also, is housing affordable to buy? What’s the range? And schooling for kids?
Schools in Seattle aren't the best, not bad but not great. Houses run from 700k and up.
For schools, I recommend Eastside.
Portland OR
Don't bother, you won't be welcome as a tech transplant
The only major players out here are NIKE and Intel lol
Islamabad. Low cost of living and very friendly & warm people around.
Looks like the amazon HQ is here in numbers :)
Colorado
San Diego. Great weather, good food, good connectivity via train, water and air. Only if there were enough jobs there.

How to be content in life?
Seattle
Yes, let’s get more people to move to Seattle to add to our traffic, housing cost, and other growing-too-fast problems...
