Fb recruiter reached to me about senior PM roles. One of my friends has been bugging me about referring me. Which route is more promising? I think going with recruiter is better for me, but not as good for my friend, who misses out on potential referral bonus. Thoughts? TC: 0 (sabbatical, was $162k before)
Make sure your friend says good things. I only ever refer people who nag me, and then I tick the "reason: social pressure" checkbox (aka "not familiar with their work" but the recruiters know what you mean).
๐ hmmm... maybe I should have a former colleague refer me, but that still screws my friend out of the bonus ๐ฌ
If you get referred, the next step is a recruiter will reach out. So you're literally taking a step backward by relying on the referral. But I guess it depends on how much you want your friend to get the bonus.

It can be both. Get your friend to refer you and also go with the recruiter.
