Last year basket of goods was costing $100, thill July it costed $108.5 and in August it didn’t go up till $109 or $110. Next year if the prices go down to become $105, we would be a deflation.

Biden might as well say we have deflation, but who will believe him. He created a mess - look at unaffordable homes, random stocks going up for no reason. Market is no longer rationale- probably not Bidens fault, but he was sleeping for inflation, he kept saying it will go away. So dumb. Trump was dumb and so is Biden. We are doomed, our choice of leadership is bad.

Month on month is zero, so no inflation in July. Year over year will be high but falling as we lap last year's data.
Not only that, Biden himself called out that this was driven largely by gas prices going down substantially. Other areas still increased. Seems reasonable to assume it will go positive MoM for August (assuming gas hasn't stabilized).
