Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
Was speaking with a FB manager recently, and we discussed whether reneging will get you blacklisted. His main point is that it would be illegal for the company to blacklist you from interviewing again in the future (b/c of reneging), since this factor doesnt correlate to your skill or anticipated job performance. Note that this applied only to California and Washington and bigger companies with a real HR department. Anyone know whether this is accurate?
That’s incorrect. Nobody is entitled to a an interview for any reason.
This would be quite in favor of the company if they can interview who they want without reason. For ex, a company can only choose to interview diversity candidates if HR org has goals to improve diversity numbers.
Blacklists exist in the form of gossip from top level management all knowing each other and following each others personal social media accounts
I heard zuckerburg, satya, tim cook, bezos and others meet weekly to exchange newly blacklisted candidates and why. Especially for e4 and lower who are blacklisted.
Lmao yeah sure
It's irrelevant since FB wouldn't blacklist you regardless. Blacklisting is stupid. Successful companies tend to do fewer stupid things than unsuccessful companies. Blacklists are a myth. If you have trouble finding people who meet the bar, and you find somebody who does, you don't blacklist them just because they changed their mind.
He's not a lawyer so I wouldn't listen to him.
With this logic, we should shut down almost all HR related discussion on blind, since it’s a bunch of Eng speculating
Not a terrible idea
