Hi - I recently accepted an offer from Blackstone Innovations (BXi), could you please let me know how a typical Associate / VP /SVP / MD makes at Blackstone Innovations (in terms of both Base, and Bonus), also what is the work culture like, and how many hours per day do the folks work for. I'm mostly joining on the Liquids Technology Side. Currently, working at Nomura as a Research Associate in New York, TC: 150k, YoE: 2 years #interview #finance #blackstone #tech #programminginterviewprep #newyork #innovationincubator #technology #coding #python #r #sql #database #privateequity #realestate #hedgefund #baam #software #dataengineer #quantdev
It’s not bad considering the bonus component in BX is good chunk of your total comp. There is room for growth , just to get you an idea a vp in tech would swing around ~170 base ( max 200 in exceptional cases) and 60 to 100K+ bonus.
My offer letter says projected bonus is 25k, what does that mean? Is that the minimum bonus or maximum bonus?
That just means they have an approval of total cost (base + bonus) for this headcount and they will honor it may be do slightly better than that.
I can guarantee you at BXTI the bonus won't be that high. The target bonus, even for VPs are around 20%. Data science falls under BXTI so I wouldn't expect a 50% bonus.
I think BXDS is separate from BXTI
Correct. Separate team
Generally speaking, the closer work is to the money-making part of the business (i.e. investment decisions), the more you’ll make. And, the more your bonus will be a reflection of what value you brought to the funds you helped that year.
OP, how's your experience been in the last year? And how much bonus did you end up getting?
You haven’t mentioned the title and base salary offered ? Happy to help.
It is Associate, BXi - Base: 135k with 2 YoE, is that good??
