Currently at Goldman Dallas as VP in CWS. My TC last year was just over $200k. I know that makes me dirt poor by Blind standards but I am more than happy with what I have. I hate my job most days and I simply work to make a decent living. Looking to get out of Dallas and move to Miami. How is the Blackstone culture in Miami? Salary wise can I expect at least a lateral move? Blackstone HR acts as if they are sooo poor (according to them, they can't even afford to pay relocation even though the position has been unfilled for months). I call BS on that.
200k is dirt poor for a VP in Goldman since almost everyone there is either a VP or Associate
I lived in Dallas for 3 years and I know 200k is good salary. Dont beat yourself up. To your question, Miami is a downgrade from Dallas if you have kids. Also cost of living will be high. VP in GS is similar to Sr. Manager roles in big tech. My advice would be try out them and get yourself to 300+ range. If it was me, I would stay in Dallas and really avoid Miami unless you get substantial hike in pay. DM me if you want to talk.
VP = L5/L6 No way it maps to L7 or Sr Mgr
Oh ok. In that case 200k in dallas is not bad. Can try for better but not a bad one at current salary.
Did you get an offer? If so what salary did they offer?
