These tech companies laying off and trying to bring ppl back is an effort to cut down on TC. I will not doubt Blinders anymore!🤦♂️ And does this mean external applicants have slim or no chance?? https://www.linkedin.com/feed/news/salesforce-looks-to-rehire-staff-5772244

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
I will take their offer if they give me just to get a paycheck & then bounce if I get better paycheck.
That's exactly how everyone should look at employers at all times. Cost/Benefit analysis, zero loyalty. We've all learned a lot in the last couple years exactly how employers need to be treated.
The smartest way to handle. I'm not loyal because companies aren't loyal to me
This is really a game to them 🤦🏼♂️
Yes its called "running a business". Don't like your fixed cost structure? Layoff and rehire ppl at lower TC!
The pandemic era TCs were unsustainable anyway. Engineering Managers earning 7 figures for running mediocre services? Give me a break.
More than 90% of these hiring are in India.
Saw very few positions in Bellevue
Right, most of the new positions are in India and their goal is to expand the tech hub there to cut expenses.
CFO: 100
Yes, right. They offered 31.5L (INR) base for 5+ yoe and are not negotiating at all.
I dont know much about Indian currency. Whats that in USD ?
Thats a pretty avg base for a tech company @cisco. Converting to USD doesnt make sense here.
Yup, salesforce is low- balling.. for an EM position in Seattle, they are offering 170k max.. no stocks , no relocation package, and 15% yearly bonus.
no stocks? how is that possible?
wtf ?
I will say there is a huge emphasis on hiring ex-Salesforce talent and hiring in India. So out of those few thousand I doubt many will go to new applicants in US markets.
why in India though?
@AlmstTheRe compared to USA the TC cost to company will be very low if hired more people in india. Eg for a position they are paying 130k USD in USA, for that same position they will have to pay 40-50k USD in india. They can hire 3 people in india for the money they spent in usa.
Sell high, buy low
Adobe has been doing the same thing. Layoffs were targeted at people with lot of unvested stock
Adobe 😭😭😭
Not a lot of those at Salesforce
I'd tell them to go fuck themselves
Google will rehire too?
You wouldn't be able to afford that
