Blizzard or Lam research Offer

I recently interviewed at lam research and blizzard. Got verbal offers from both. I do not have correct salary quotes yet (will update post once I have quotes). Any suggestions on company culture and which should i choose? I interviewed for senior software engineer # Yoe:6+ Current organization: OCI (fed up of oncall) Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. πŸ™πŸΌ thank you #engineering #software #s#offe#offer #lamresearchcompensati#blizzardcompensation

I’ve heard working at Blizz is rough. Any game company in general. Love blizzard games though and it’d be fun to be apart of that. Def need TCs.

I have a history of 7 years in the game industry. Left and would not go back. All game companies have a burnout culture. Avoid it if you can, you will be happier for it. It's not worth the stress on your mental and physical health. You will be working 60-80 hours a week or more depending on the team / company. Also PTO is a joke at those companies, even if you have it you can't take it due to deadlines.

The position I am applied for is more on SDE on data centric role. During my conversation it was mentioned that there will not much with oncall process. When you say burn out is it related to oncall support or for normal development and day today work?

Ah ok. May be different then. I was working on new game features in engine. You may be fine honestly in that case. I was specifically talking about engineers who work directly in line with game releases whether you're on the game's side of development or support those developers in some way.
