Why do FAANG companies pay such high salaries in the US for SDE/SWE's or whatever you call a programmer these days? These people are essentially code monkeys whose jobs can be outsourced to India or East Europe for a fraction of the cost. I'm surprised layoffs took this long to happen and are in such low numbers relatively to the bloated salaries of all these outsourceable resources. If you're just going to be sitting at home writing code and terrified to talk to a customer might as well be in a country where the cost of living is 20x lower and they don't need to justify these massive expenses. I understand paying high salaries to sales, SAs, TAMs etc.. since these guys are essentially driving in business, but SWE TCs are just ridiculous and nobody should be surprised that the house of cards is collapsing. #tech
ok ‘new’. also tc or gtfo
Cope , dont burn

cope
Troll or jealousy? Cannot decide.
Troll with a hint of jealousy
TC or GTFO. Salty much? It's literally supply and demand. You're not the first person who made this argument but... We hire the top dogs because they can come up with a strategy that can change the landscape. Even in big tech, they hire smart people they can learn, adapt, solve, and think faster than a regular Joe.
@hrt, do referrals matter for intern?
mad respect for HRT devs, you guys are genius 👌

If you said non-FAANG, I’d be game because they run on fumes of VC funding / share dilution.
if engineers dont build product what will sales sell?
Makes sense, I didn't say we didn't need them but that companies could easily find equivalent talent in cheaper markets.
Yeah we could’ve just moved the whole dev team to Russia. Oh wait but then the whole dev team would’ve been gone due to sanctions.
LOL
