Bloomberg SSE to Uber L4
Bloomberg Senior Software Engineer for 3 yrs, Uber lowballed to L4. Not worth it, right? Also have SSE offers from Zillow (P4) and Walmart Labs (E4) Total yoe: ~9 Cureent Tc: 168k

Could be that didn't meet their bar in the interview. So asking to compare Bloomberg bar/level against Uber to know if it's worth pursuing.

Get offer numbers first then compare. The titles don't map 1:1. Check levels.fyi for exact levels. Senior at some places map to L4 in some of the companies. Don't waste time over title just compare the compensation. Also, avoid WalmartLabs read on another recent blind thread that it is having worst tech culture in Bay and currently running short on desks and parking space in offices.
Holy shit I thought I was underpaid. You know that new hires get 160 out of college, right? Those are not outliers, but the standard 2019 FSD offer. This post is meaningless without the TC that Uber is offering you, but I would imagine it’s at least 250, more likely 270, so why wouldn’t you take it? Being down-leveled is not bad if you’re happy with the TC because you’ll be evaluated on an easier scale. P.S. Your TC at Bloomberg indicates that you’re ranked really low... Perhaps your TL doesn’t like you. I would definitely take Uber and focus on creating a better impression and making bigger impact. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss further. Bloomberg senior does map to L4. Uber tc must beat your current tc, even with stock so low. Uber is at hiring freeze, so if you’re still getting an offer, take it before they retract it. I’ve seen lots of people trying to get in at this point when the stock price is so low - almost like 2014/2015 when Uber stock was priced at this Rsu price.
