I’ve heard about the lack of levels at BB, but being compensated based on contribution. Can you please share what this means and also share what your salary progression looks like since your first year until now. Thanks

Bloomberg has a relatively large engineering department so it is possible to get involved in projects that affect more than just your direct team. The wider the impact of your work, the more you will be recognized at higher levels of management and the larger your target comp will be. This could also apply for high visibility business initiatives, i.e. if you are one of the core people working on a feature that will bring Mike a lot of money. Ofc there is politics just like anywhere else. My comp has gone up 50% since joining 3 years ago and is currently around mid-300s. Btw there are ICs that report directly to middle management (instead of TLs that lead the trenches) and that is the closest thing we have to staff level I think.
Congrats! Thanks for your explanation
Do you think any of the ICs are hitting 500K ?
