Bloomberg internal transfer
Currently at MSFT. TC: 160k | L61 | 4.5 years work ex. Joining Bloomberg in January 2021. New TC: 260k | SSE Will be working from Seattle, for a team in New York. Wanted to know about internal transfers. How’s the process like for transfer to a team in London ? Planning to move in the next 1-2 years.
Process is pretty straightforward. Once you’ve been here for 18mos and have shown that you can perform well, you can switch teams. There’s an internal job posting board that shows all the open positions. You reach out to the manager and if there’s a match, you’re invited to join. Most teams will not have a technical interview. You can move to any office where there’s an opening.
Is 18 month wait, a hard requirement before switching teams ?
Yes, but I think it’s only for the first time.
Afaik you take a pay cut by moving from NYC to London.
I believe bloomberg is hybrid and you can work remotely in Seattle for NY team?
Moving to London due to personal reason or something else? Doesn't microsoft have an office in London?
Personal reasons. Start fresh. Microsoft does have an office in London, but TC is shit.
