Hey yall, what’s the interview like for entry level software engineers at bloomberg? Do they ask sys design? Or just leetcode? How many rounds? #engineering #software #swe Yoe 1.8 Tc 0 unemployed
Never did Bloomberg but I worked at direct competitor (factset) and we had design round FWIW. Agree with above about Leetcode tagged though. They are tagged on a lot of the blind 75
Factset asked sys design for entry level??
They ask you LC questions and when you solve them, they still reject you after you solve it with all test cases passed with no feedback.
Oh shit why
Most likely culture fit
The final round has 4 interviews - 2 LC, one HR, and one with a senior manager. You will only do the HR and manager interviews if you pass the LC.
Do you ever see cases where the HR interview isn't the same day as the coding interview? Also how quickly does Bloomberg generally let people know they failed?
I don’t think we ask system design for entry level.
I think it's possible but pretty unlikely. If it does show up, it will be in the manager interview
I think everyone in the UK gets sys design at entry level
No system design just focus on leetcode style questions. Any design question you might get won't really be an involved 'system design' but something simple that can be solved using a combination of basic data structures (map, list) - more so of a 'small module' design.
Thanks bro
In your opinion, which is harder google or bloomberg? Because I taken google before and got good feedback from onsite
@OP let us know how your interview went. Just kinda curious. I’ve been rejected many times before but this one kinda hurt because I already have another offer from NYC and thought I’d be able to do something with it :(
Will do
I think BB interviewers reallly care about your thought process. It not just about regurgitating solutions. I did struggle a little bit with the interview questions but was able to organically solve them at the end. Also always implement even if you interviewer tells you the just want you to describe the solution.
Update: did my interview today. Went well, asked about a lot of computer science topics like why would you use a binary search or explain what is a linked list. Medium leetcode, explaining my thought process and implementing it as the same time. Said time and space complexity. For behavioral he asked why Bloomberg and why software development
Did you get the offer?
No
How quickly did they get back to you to tell you that you failed?
idk
How many rounds are there?
