I got an offer for a new position within the bank that is 3,250 lower than the base salary range they posted on the position. Colorado posted salary range is 98,250-132,000 , the verbal offer they gave me was 95,000, and when I asked why it was lower the talent acquisition person said that the Colorado rates are not accurate and that I am getting a good rate compared to the team. I meet all the basic qualifications and have all the desired qualifications and then some , I’m based in Charlotte. I haven’t accepted the offer verbally in hope you all can offer some advice on what to do and how to negotiate. YOE:2 Current Hourly Pay: $32 TC last year: 81,000 (lots of over time) #boa #negotiate
Ask to be based in Colorado lol
I thought the same thing , they have lower rent too! The talent acquisition person made it seem like the Colorado rate isn’t right even if I was based in Colorado
This is why I moved out of North Carolina, we get screwed on comp yet cost of living is going up quickly. My sister is looking at 1 bedroom apts for 1500 a month in the middle of nowhere, NC…. That’s what I paid for a 1 bedroom in Brooklyn lol but 2x+ the income.
Brooklyn has changed bro Now people are in bidding wars at 4k for a 1 bedroom
Bay ridge still has $1600 1bedroom apts roughly 700sq ft
Basically there are caps on how much they will move comp even if you do change positions. From their perspective you're getting a big jump as it is. Sadly it causes younger professionals to have to switch orgs to get market value. I had 4 jobs in my first 7 years and my pay went up 4x over that period.
Don’t take the low ball offer. I’d come back and say that your skill set is worth 130k and that your pursuing other offers. HR whole strategy at Bank of America is to pay below market. Don’t let them take advantage of you.
