I got a 155k offer for an L4 no signing Bonus or RSUs Is that a good offer? Is Boeing safe from layoffs? Is that a hire to fire? Current TC $116K 10YoE
What's the location? Is it WFH?
No relocation as I live next to the office. This is a hybrid position
I misread your comment. Location is Seattle WA
Yeah, that's a really good offer. Is it in IT on the west coast? Boeing doesn't do hire to fire and attrition is pretty high right now due to a lack of market compensation raises so you should be safe.
It's for BCA in Washington. Thanks for the insights
I heard they got some new contracts, so layoffs shouldn't be a concern
They are having huge retention problems and have had get engineering contractors. Certainly safe now but layoff are strictly seniority based due to union contract.
I just got promoted internally to 151k Level 4 BCA but it took me 16 years to do it...
Congrats. ππΎπ is it base or total compensation?
You can probably get to $165 with a small sign on.
That's squarely on the Median value for that skill code. This is pretty common practice at Boeing. For retention, your skill code is large so you should be fine. Making L4 at Boeing is not easy and managers will usually do everything they can to keep you. With 401k matching that 155k will end up being closer to 170k which imo isn't terrible for the Puget Sound given the WLB at Boeing.
Thanks for the insights! I'm happily employed at Boeing now
Boeing has a ton of orders in the backlog and just got a huge one from United announced a couple days ago so pretty safe comparatively in this economy.
