Bonus/Raise at Amazon

What's the usual bonus/raise that we get at Amazon. I joined last August and only got a 1% raise. Is that the norm? Or a signal about my performance. Can you ask for an increase or why it's so low?? My manager said it's HR decides and he has no control over it. TC -215, L5 Seattle

1% raise in base and no RSU’s? I mean you haven’t even been here a year, wouldn’t expect anything too crazy

That's pretty much it. I think that's pretty low??

Nice name

Yep you haven't been here for a year and easily your teammates contributions out weigh yours so they will get the raise.

What's typically given as raise?

Amazon 227ida May 5, 2021

Still depends on where you stand in comparison to your teammates. I received 5.9% increase in base and 22 stock for 2023 as a TT in my org.

Most amazon employees haven’t heard of a raise. You didn’t know this before joining? 😂

First year raise would be just to keep up with inflation. Iirc raises go from 1-5%, with 5% reserved for top performers. Your performance rating that your manager should have disclosed to you should have been an indicator of where you would land.

I think that’s normal for being new to Amazon. I would not worry about it being an indicator of your performance.

Well I joined last August as well and I got no raise at all. In fact I now have a pay cut because the stock has stayed flat. So enjoy your 1% (on your base, so that's really 0.5%, but actually it's a pay cut because the stock has flatlined)
