Boomerang back to FB
I’ve been at Google for a few months. Thinking about going back to Facebook. So much more opportunity for impact, better WLB, superior employee treatment. Am I missing something? TC: $275

You are missing wlb at FB? What does that mean? Do you like more work and stress? Which teams have good wlb at FB?
A lot of teams at fb have good wlb. Search, insta, audience network, ml, infra, newsfeed. That’s why the attrition is low (employees can see the attrition stats in real time). Overblown wlb concerns is exaggerated by blind posters who were rejected or spewing shit to lower competition
well, it really depends on manager... my friend working under a Chinese manager in news feed is working 9am to 8pm, good wlb in Chinese culture, but definitely not in bay...
Can you elaborate what you found better? I've heard my friends being very unhappy so Facebook, especially over last year
I can say the same about some goog peeps over the whole harassment shit and walk out. A shit ton of xooglers in the most recent starting class at fb
Bad move on their part. But it's mostly SJWs that are leaving Google, so that's good.

OP, i am ex goog and am fb now. Go back if you can, i hated the bs promo process and was stuck at L5 for years having to deal with the bs promo packet process. Only thing i miss are some of the internal go/ tools
How was your experience growing up from L3 to L5 at Google?
It was a good 4 years because i was progressing as an engineer and because goog still had the 20% rule to work on ML shit. Didnt like the years after trying to make L6 with multiple bs excuses for not making it and the increased frugality under ruth.
How many YOE do you have OP? Curious to see how long it takes to get from new grad to that level of TC
