Bored AF in Dallas
I moved to DFW area following herd mentality 3 years ago but bored AF now. Homes used to to be cheap but those are so expensive now (Expensive if you look at historical Texas values). Apart from getting huge 3000sqft homes for a $1M (A similar sized home would cost $2-$3M or even higher in HCOL), Dallas doesn't have much to offer. It's a huge concrete jungle with more concrete trees (read construction) and highways being added like crazy. No mountains, national parks or good beaches within 500 mile radius. Don't know what warrants $1M houses and people falling over each other to buy them! What are some interesting and happening places I can move to?

Yeah. Idk why people live in Texas. If you want to get out of California, Colorado or Virginia are probably your best bets for places with some nature.
Oddly enough there’s nature in places in Texas outside Dallas.
How is CO winter not a problem for people?

It's a concrete jungle of Indians who jacked up the prices and don't give a shit about national parks and mountains. They have their state and caste wars to fight which keeps them occupied

Housing market is a bit crazy in dfw, ton’s of commercial development
If you look areas like Bay Area or Miami, other areas in Florida, those have either beaches, year round warm or nice weather, national parks and lots of outdoor things to do, then yes high property prices are warranted as there is less land and more demand. In Dallas, there is plain land as far as one can go so unlimited land where one can develop. Don't know what's keeping prices elevated.
