Boston vs Bay Area vs NYC
Which is better (pay, opportunity, wlb and general quality of life) for a couple who are both in tech ? YOE: 6 TC: 250
Seattle > Boston > nyc > Silicon Valley is how I would rate them. Factoring everything salaries, cost of living, etc

I only have Seattle as number 1 because the pay is really strong In Seattle tons of tech companies but the cost of housing is significantly cheaper than Silicon Valley and there is no state tax. Basically you can get a Silicon Valley paycheck but at vastly reduced col. personally I prefer Boston over Seattle. No plans to move :) from a wealth building perspective they are #1
The only place where you can have an amazing movie quality life is NYC, but you’ll have to make it that way. So, the answer depends on who you are. If you’re somebody who can take advantage of all the dating and adventure options in NYC, then nothing can top NYC and you can have the 20s and 30s of your dreams. In terms of tech, options and headcount will always be much more limited in NYC. Getting Bat Area TC is Seattle is definitely a way to maximize savings. But so is picking a wining startup and becoming an IPO millionaire in the Bay... Boston doesn’t have that much going on, besides being cold and kinda cool, but not really.

Married, no kids..so NYC might still work for us.. But eventually I'm not so sure.
What level are you at TripAdvisor with that pay? Do you know how much senior and principal make at TripAdvisor?
I'm Senior, I believe more experienced seniors and principals will be making something north of that
Can they go to 350k? Btw 250 is awesome as hell for TripAdvisor with 6yoe. That location is nice you can buy a house cheaper
