I’ve got any interview coming up with box and the recruiter mentioned this will be a vanilla JS round, any pointers to tackle this interview well? Areas to concentrate? ReactJS is not required - I believe. Thanks. #box @box @staffsoftwareengineer @frontend#engineering

Thanks much!
How was your interview?
How was your interview? Was it algorithm and data structure in JS? or more of front end development with HTML and CSS?
they asked a lot of general web dev questions such as what happens when you type in a url? what’s a cache, cdn, etc
I couldn’t make it to next level - I had staff engineer asking me 30mins of backend-design questions and questions like how do I install https certificate on nginx. Though the role I applied was for Frontend staff - He asked one event emitter question which I solved to his satisfaction but then still rejected based on previous response the interview was nothing like recruiters guidance of “they will ask to implement small things in html/css/js” the engineer was constantly b*ing about how he hates to take interviews and wants to move to management role. It was total unprofessional by both recruiter and engineer didn’t even bother to give proper feedback just one line “we decided to move with another candidate” no response on asking feedback!
