I have new grad offers at Brex and Nuro, but I’m not sure what to pick. At first, I was deadset on Nuro because it has such cool work on the team I’ll join and the comp is great, but Brex recently raised money a couple of days ago, so my TC shot up because RSUs were determined during my offer letter date. I’m torn on what to do. Nuro has cool work and super smart engineers, but Brex has more stability than any AV company and I know that it’ll IPO. I’m not sure about promotions, but I think Brex probably has the edge on that. Also, if you have a reasoning on your vote, I’d appreciate it if you could say why :)) ty! Nuro: 221k recurring + 40k signing Brex: 253k recurring #brex #nuro #newgrad
Had a similar choice a while back, would choose Brex any day.
Why any day?
Brex for the IPO potential. Btw what were the interviews like?
What are the IPO plans of Brex?
I might be wrong but I think you might be over-estimating Brex TC by just a bit. Don't forget valuation increase do come with dilutions in share price so it's not a 1 to 1 mapping. Regardless, it's close enough and my personal recommendation is: Brex. And Brex has 'super smart' engineers too. It's clogged with ex-Googlers/Facebookers/Airbnbers/etc. since it's a hot pre-ipo firm in the Valley. Don't know much about Nuro to comment. So don't worry if that's your criteria for judging companies.
Didn’t read your post, and still voted for BREX !!

How is career growth at Nuro for SWEs? For example it seems really common for Facebook new grads to get promoted in a year or less so was wondering how promotion speed/stock refreshers are at Nuro. I’m currently in team matching for autonomy/autonomy platform so would appreciate any insights.
Plus, your adjusted TC will probably cross 300k by next fall due to another funding round
Most startups don't IPO, decision can be costly🤞 evaluating Brex
👋 genuine curious about your opinions and experience. Why did you move to Nuro? How many years of swe in Brex? How do you define higher engineering bar? When do you think Nuro will IPO?
I have to say Nuro's hiring bar is unique, not high. Some really great candidates are rejected for BS reasons, and later they get onto much better companies
