I was offered a role at VMware not too long ago, and just now hearing that VMware is going to be acquired by Broadcom…I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing now. I liked VMware for the big tech name and company culture…but idk if getting acquired by Broadcom will change anything. Is it worth going to VMware now? Total comp: 130k
Depends how RSUs will be handled via acquisition. If they get cashed out… that would be awesome. If they get converted to Broadcom stock and still vest over three years then meh…
They have the option of getting $142/share or exchange for Broadcom stock. See Bloomberg article for details.
hes talking about unvested RSUs not stock

Even I have recieved an offer with nearly 300% hike. But not sure whether to join or not considering the situation. Any idea when this acquisition is going to complete!!
Layoffs would be inevitable. The CEO of Broadcom has a tendency to cut costs. I’d double check with the hiring manager.
Do you think hiring manager would know anything?
Probably not. But they might know if recently given offers will be rescinded or not.
