Looks similar to Intel acquiring McAfee. That acquisition proved to be so stupid for them. Not sure what Broadcom plans to do with Symantec.

I remember when Hock Tan bought Broadcom and then proceeded to fire the entire SOC team because “they were simply not a core business function.” Imagine being bought out by a company owned and operated by Avago (which is the best aqui-fire practitioner AND doesn’t value information security). Let the next Infinity War begin.
