He studied Information Systems and have only got certifications and training in software dev and cisco and some stuff that I don't remember. But, long term plans, want to be a Solution Architect and then Enterprise Architect. Ideally, wants to start in Consulting firm like Deloitte and then move in house or join a FAANG and move to a start up. Any tips? What certifications should he get and what roles should he get into to get experience to become a Solutions Architect?
Pick up the cloud certifications. That will be a big plus for getting into consulting. On top of that, all consulting firms are oversold for work. Getting in the door right now will be easy especially if you have someone get him a referral on here or the Fishbowl app. Accenture, Deloitte, and EY have great tech consulting.
Omg. Is it possible for him to get a referral from here? That will be brilliant! I'm new on this site so I'm not even aware. I'll let him know about the cloud certifications. There's so many out there though. What's in demand at the moment? Are amazon certifications still hot?
Azure and AWS cloud certifications. You could probably get a referral on here quickly. Just tag the company you want a referral for. Most people on here are quite helpful. I would see if he could could apply directly where he wants to go in tech and skip consulting.
