I am about to schedule a karat interview for deliveroo for a backend engineer L4 position London based. I just started grinding lc and got very nervous after reading feedback on Blind for karat interviews in general. For me switching jobs will be very big, since my salary would at least double if deliveroo take me. Want to succeed badly! Any tips and tricks? Problems I should focus on? TC £35k Yoe 3.5
Just passed one, 2 mediums (on the easier side) in 45min, doesn't need to be optimal. I would LC a lot and clock how fast I finish
try to complete 2 coding questions in 45 min..max 3 coding questions will be there..complexity won’t matter..working solution is important.. first coding question will be relatively easy..try to finish asap so that you will have more time for q2..in discuss section of leetcode you can search for karat questions..don’t expect any help or hint from interviewer..
In my experience, you just need to get to the solution and spell out the complexity, doesn't need to be optimal and you can decide to retake it in 24 hours I'd you feel you did not do well.
When I got hired I just got an easy ass FizzBuzz problem :) it’s getting tough these days…
It’s standard LC interview, plus you can retake it if you want it. When I did it, it was like 2 easy problems.
Would prefer not to retake it if there is a chance that they will pass me :)) stupid question: the problems are different for the retake, right?
Never took it again, but I’d assume they would be different.
Hey OP, how did you get the referral? Can you please refer me to that company? I would be happy to dm you my info, awaiting your reply:)
The recruiter mentioned they are looking to almost double their headcount this year. Just apply on their career site to the positions you think you would be suitable and they will contact you.
Hey can you forward my resume with the recruiter, if i may ask? Can I dm you?
I attended karat interview and managed to finish just 1 problem in the given time, they have 10 mins for theoretical questions too … but I passed the interview! They said if provided the finished solution for the problem, so it was okay.
Nice! Well done! Was the problem using matrix? Did you go to the next round?
It was around a map and simple one, i just could do one as I really have an issue performing fast while someone is watching 😅, but all the tests passed .so, yes I did move to next round !
Hey, I have my Karat interview tomorrow. Would appreciate any pointer on the problems you guys had. Thanks so much :)
Out of curiosity, why would you trade Meta for Deliveroo?
But anyway, the problems were rather simple. Don’t remember mine, but it was some simple thing like throw everything in a map and return the sum of X or the top X elements… Something along these lines. If you can go through easy/medium LC, you won’t have trouble at all
In my case I was interviewing for an Android position so my karat session was divided into a brief introduction + 2 parts: - 15 min for 6 domain knowledge questions (Activity, Lyfecicle, Service, Context, and so on) - 45 min of coding questions. You'll use them all the time cause they will keep bringing more questions Tips: - Answer the domain questions quickly so you can answer as much as possible - Don't expect tips from the interviewer, although they are nice - Coding questions are LC easy/medium. Both were related to a graph-kind input and how to check parents, children, and stuff. The input is nothing alike a TreeNode as in LC, it's more like an adjacency list. Did it yesterday, so I don't know the results yet, but I feel like I clear it.
buy LC premium and filter for Karat problems by frequency. 2/2 problems I’ve gotten in a prev Karat int were atop that list
