I think it will rebound eventually
Watch out. Competition is fiercer and fiercer in the EV space. And Tesla is a car company, not really a tech company. What makes you think Tesla will grow significantly?
How will Tesla beat Chinese EV makers?
True. But depending on brand positioning the markets may be different. Tesla tends to be perceived as somewhat “prestigious” by the aspirational middle class. But the Chinese will likely conquer the lower cost segment by a landslide.
It's not prestigious anymore when others enter the markets. And they already have. And Tesla still cannot deliver the hype Elon has been saying for 6 years now
Earnings announced tomorrow. The downside risks are extremely high. They have been announcing price cuts, layoffs, “seasonal” changes , challenges in China, idling factories for months now. Best case scenario is “it’s not as bad as we thought it was.” Worst case scenario is driving off a cliff. I think it’s going to be real bad.
I think we'll see a bump in stock price from earnings, and then a small, sharp drop, followed by a trailing decline over the next few months as Musky boy slowly shreds his own reputation.
I was in the same boat a couple of years ago when I ‘thought’ Robinhood and Snap will go back up and I bought a bunch of those stocks at $30 and $55 respectively. Lesson 1 of stocks class is to never buy stocks because you ‘think’ they will go up. But if for some reason you are not able to do proper research and still want to buy a stock then buy when the stock is going up rather than when it is going down. My 2 cents.
I will start buying in small quantities once it hit 120 and lower . And then will start buying in large quantities once the trend reverses
As long as rates are high - don’t buy I
Tesla’s honeymoon is over. But it will have some growth long-term. No one trusts Chinese EVs just like TikTok. So, rest assured Tesla will be a winner with FSD in the long-run. Delivering good without humans driving is going to lower the cost of good. It should also reduce the amount of distribution centers.
But it can't become fsd. Because it's not ready. If Elon go ahead and truly make it fsd, he has to be responsible for any accidents, just like Cruise. Then Tesla will be closed in a day. Elon is not that stupid, so he won't make fsd fsd. But then this way, it will just be an electric vehicle. Jeez it's so obvious but why do I type a thesis to explain the obvious?!
If it’s really good to drive without driver then insurance premiums would become even lower. Insurance will still have to be bought by car owner(for damages). Accidents liability will be on Tesla however. It will only become truly driverless only when it’s 10x safer then human driver based on data and perception. I think it’s at least 5-10 yr away. I am a current FSD driver(v 12.3.4)
