Hi Blinder here. Got an 2-1 offer from Singapore Bytedance Since Bytedance struggling with US gov now. It's still a good time join BD Singapore?? And how is Singapore office situation now?? TC : 120K sgd base + 17k sgd in RSU YoE : 4 #singapore #bytedance #tiktok
If it's 17k sgd per year, then take it! I believe bytedance also has an annual bonus which is I believe 10-15% of base salary!
But how about the situation in SG Bytedance. It's safe?
I believe there is some uncertainty but it's hard to give any advice without knowing your other offers!

This guy knows the truth. Facebook does pay a lot in Singapore, actually everywhere. I am not aware of any other company that pay this much unless their stocks skyrocketed like Apple, Shopee. Some financial companies like GS do pay a lot, all depending on your previous salary and interview performance.
Yea. Actually I don’t know any company that pays more than FB in terms of TC in Singapore too. Except for maybe Govtech (they are more than willing to match and exceed your previous salary) if you are Singaporean or HFT firms
I think all the more you should join since trouble in US means they will need to rely on engineers based elsewhere. You joining the team in Singapore early gives you a head start in career development in the event they decide to invest more resources in Singapore.

Good offer for 4 yoe especially considering Chinese companies pay much bigger bonus. RSU seems thin but good growth potential. Your WLB wont be an issue for the time being, afaik BD Singapore office is not doing anything but hiring at the moment. The real problems come after you guys pick up real projects. You either have to work with Chinese teams who take 6 day work week and 5 day work week alternately or you have to work with Seattle office which has a huge timezone shift. I cant see how these things WONT affect your WLB. But most likely worth it since it seems you are getting shit on in your package by Grab.

Hey OP don’t listen to people who don’t work at Bytedance talking about what’s going on in our offices. I work in SG, have to work with people in China but they never ever buzzed me on a weekend day or a holiday. By the way, they stopped working on Sundays every other week, so now they have the same hours as us. I think that as long as you’re not in a team that directly faces users (e.g. tiktok live or comments), life is pretty chill here. Last point, they’re doing their best to reorganize the company to reduce interactions between people from different countries as much as possible, so as far as I understand it’s only gonna get better moving forward
I did hear good things about bytedance Singapore.. they have $15 daily delivery vouchers daily for their employees for daily meals. Fringe benefits but seems like the company is rich and is willing to spend
