CA WARN report

What insights are you able to draw from this report? https://www.edd.ca.gov/Jobs_and_Training/warn/WARN_Report_for_7-1-2018_to_06-10-2019.pdf Some of the things I noticed... - Even some big names in Tech regularly let go significant # of employees - Apple/Western Digital/Tesla/Paypal/Marvel/Symantec/Oracle/Intel/SAP/Ebay/Riverbed/Qualcomm/Cisco - System integrator Jabil is losing so many folks. Arethey still in business? - Several Hospitals/medical insitutions Verity/Adventist group...are hurting and shutting down completely - Home depot seems to be killing Lowes/Orchard Supplies - Sears/KMart/JC Penny are hopeless and winding down so fast. - Not sure if this is true but LA/San Deigo regions seem to be hit the most for Non-Tech companies. -Tech companies - almost entirely hit in San Jose/SFO bay area counties - If you look at the last table in the pdf, it shows that on an average it is 100 employees per Notice. - Most companies decide to lay off in Oct just before Thanksgiving so that they don’t need to pay people for the holidays, which seems brutal. Any other insights? Do you even look at this when making career moves/choosing stable companies?

SAP, Tesla and SpaceX lost lots of people. For Apple, Symantec, Oracle, CISCO, etc, it looked like shutting down small or under performing products rather than broad impact. Instacart took a bit of a hit.
