So if you haven’t been following the latest CVP promotions, renner posted about the latest two women. Spin alert, he posted it as his favorite people, but really a nod to 2 women getting promoted. Failed to mention that one not-so-hypothetical-karen, is not only a terrible leader but actually maybe a closet racist. I guess if you can check the box in one diverse category, you can ignore the bad behavior and prejudices. At basic level, I know she is a poor leader. Never says thank you, doesn’t want dissent, calculated, manages through fear. But at an event we were at, felt really bad to overhear some of her comments about leaders of color. (reinforces that I can never truthfully check the race identification box. it’s not really safe to admit you are not fully white). thought about complaining to HR, but our hr person is either passive or too caught up in her promo quest to care. Maybe both. I know my managers have to force ranking in rewards to punish those who are unlucky enough to anger her, and then she and hr hides it with arbitrarily forcing them to move some black or hispanic to meet her diversity numbers. She will lash out when challenged. She has her inner circle and so what should I do? I don’t think I can trust anyone to help. Should I end my career by reporting her? Do I tell the leaders on her team about the comments? She finds out if you complain to employee advocates. Apparent the leaders don’t care because they promoted her but I have proof. What is the best way to get away from her without sacrificing my work?
You have one choice: leave. If leaving the company you may send your allegations and evidence on your way out. If moving internally you’re probably best off by keeping it to yourself.
Which org is this.
Update, I know who this, CVP financial services, mcaps. She is awful, very racist.. makes inappropriate remarks and bullies people. She has friends in high places, advise you to leave. I reported her to the hrbp, Lindsay, as did some of my colleagues previously..but she didn’t do anything. Told me it was all in my head. Thanks Microsoft HR for gaslighting me. as a woman of color she could have advocated for those that don’t have a voice, but chose to align to the cvp to protect herself.. our HR can’t be trusted.. So disappointed in HR who hides this behavior.. Tc180
Karen DelVescovo strikes again. We just got news that our GM is leaving. He said it was time to move on after all these years, but we all saw how she treated him. Another brown/black leader exited under her. Sad as he was good, really decent. Get the hell out of the org. Karen is straight evil and Lindsay is in her pocket.get out, get out, get out!!!
How was he treated? Not for nothing but another white male GM got pushed out a few months ago. So is it racism or she just runs a hard business? I’m fairly new to FSI and MS so want to hear more about what I am facing ahead of me.
I don’t think it’s the same thing. CM told us he was retiring. This last one didn’t make sense. Strong leadership and team performance. Awkward to watch her be so mean for petty things. This org is toxic. I was hoping HR might step in, but based on the experiences of others and posts here and on the other threads, seems too risky to trust.
Wall of text, no TC, moving on
