So I’m a contractor right now. My senior said she definitely needs me. I asked if it’s possible to convert to perm and she said that she would have to ask the hiring manager because she thinks there are fees if they try to convert me to perm before 6 months. Could my employer just let the contract run (my contract is exactly 6 months), wait a day or two after and then hire me on permanently?

It might seem cold, but the terms of the contact end the second the contact is over. The hiring company might have to pay fees to terminate the contract *early*, but once it's done, it's done. You might feel like the contracting company is getting snubbed, but remember, they placed a worker *so competent* that the hiring company wanted to bring them on full time the moment the contact was up. That's great news for the contracting company because it means the hiring company is much more likely to use them in the future. Hope that helped!
That makes sense. It sounds a little cold but I honestly don’t care. I really just want to be converted to perm because my contracting company skims like 30k off the top of my salary haha. I’m grateful for them landing me a great opportunity though so it isn’t undeserved. But I would like to get a full piece of my own cake if that makes sense.
Absolutely, you do what you gotta do! But in this case, you aren't burning any bridges or offending anyone; it's a win/win/win.
You'll be fine, just Check that your contract does not has a non solicitation clause/term, or that it's in your favor.
That’s a great idea actually I’m gonna get reading
Read it It says nothing like that anywhere in there. It’s basically just “we can fire you anytime we want without warning, here’s your pay, don’t steal IP, stuff about benefits”
Yes that’s standard practice
Wait really? Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic
Seriously
