Unpopular opinion but most of the blame robinhood faces feel unwarranted. Like talking about payment order flow stuff (customer being the product), well td beat them with orderflow income. https://m.benzinga.com/article/20971201 Talking about GME restrictions: everybody except fidelity(cz they're literally a bank) stopped us from trading. I had moved from RH to td in 2020 because of outages and even td restricted GME trading and specifically options for WEEKS. Of course it sucked for the investors including myself but the conspiracies after that fiasco have been crazy despite multiple clarifying reports that it was a liquidity issue. But the amount of press RH hatred gets has now left me thinking in opposite spectrum. Are likes of wsj who keep bashing RH on incorrect public sentiment actually trying to help big boys like Charles Schwab!? I do feel for a retail joe who probably makes 5 trades a day or a week, zero commission trading is an absolute win regardless of payment order flow. Prove me wrong in comments if you believe otherwise as I'm genuinely interested in knowing reasoning (not conspiracy) I also feel that RH can do a publicity makeover and for that likes of vlad might have to take the fall unfortunately #tech #personalfinance
I like RH. They essentially forced all big brokers to no commission trading. I feel like the hate is undeserved. You are getting free trades and the company needs to make money also. There's no free lunch here.
I feel like the hate is not just undeserved but part of a deliberate PR campaign. After all they did muddy the waters for all those big brokers
Big hedge funds want robinhood gone so they can start charging people fees again. Idiots think robinhood is the enemy here even when they brought us free trading.
where's the option for "Robinhood doesn't have to shift public sentiment they're already killing it"? blind is not the world. reddit is not the world. realize that you live in a bubble. their user growth absolutely exploded in Q1 due to the GME "fiasco". their financials are banana. RH is going to be just fine, and I plan to cash in big on their IPO
