A process is running in the background monitoring your cursor's activity/ path taken to click that box.
If, as soon as the webpage opens, the cursor zips straight to the box and clicks it, the background process will determine a bot likely did that. If the cursor takes a smooth curve, the process will likely determine it's a bot. Humans moving a mouse make a VERY bumpy path with bumps that we can't see with a bare eye. So the "highly advanced AI" is just measuring how close the path taken is to what humans do when clicking a box.
Full disclosure idk the exact algorithm either, though I believe it’s safe to say it’s something related to activity of the mouse moving and clicking the button. That’s pretty much all that it can be. How long before the mouse moved? What kind of pattern of movement activity occurred? How long did it take to actually click? There must be a lot of UI-stream data that goes into training whether the interaction was human or not. So what part about the previous description is necessarily wrong, aside from it being fairly generic?
