It's one of the worst developed countries in the world. Do not go. 1. Absurd taxes. Canadians think 78 USD makes you "rich" and tax it 43% marginal tax in Ontario. If you hit 160k USD you start giving nearly 50% of your money earned to the government. For what? Basically nothing. So bums can get "free healthcare" and generous welfare. I can't begin to describe how horrible all of this is. It keeps you poor and they suck your blood while old money (along with bums) given all the advantages. 2. Awful weather yet extreme expensive. No logic. 3. Awful infrastructure... Yet still expensive. 4. Garbage wages. Seriously, wages make me feel sick wince I know what people in other countries make. Truly dogshit wages in Canada. Most professionals think 60k CAD is some amazing salary. 5. Rude people and zero culture. Mass immigration means there is no sense of community. Everyone hates each other. 6. Low prestige place to live. Canada is one of the easiest countries to immigrate into. The standards are rock bottom and will take anyone who isn't brain dead. To Canadians it's more important to bring hordes of Immigrants than ensure a quality life for these immigrants and their existing citizens. 7. Everything is expensive. Traveling, household goods, cars, clothes, etc... Literally everything costs more than the US. It's called the "Canada tax". Fuck you, give me money. Seriously don't go to Canada. India is much better.
Bullshit. I’m an expat and would give anything to move back to Canada.
Low “prestige” place to live… Jesus lol nothing to say
Eh. I kinda see where OP is coming from. Canada takes literally everyone so it can be weird to see your dumb friend from India thriving there. High taxes essentially mean that you and the dumb friend will have equivalent lifestyles. Not saying that line of thinking is correct but you wouldn’t feel rewarded working in that environment.
Amazon, Canada prefers low skill immigrants. It’s easier to immigrate as a truck driver to Canada than as an engineer. 57.5% of working age (25-64) in Canada hold a college or university credential, the younger your range the higher the penetration of post secondary education. IIRC 76% is the number floating around for the 25-35s in Ontario. So overall they need your dumb friend who can drive a truck way more than they need another engineer to depress Canadian engineering wages even further
So when are you "shifting" back to India?
The Canadian guy trying to stop immigrants. Vancouver is one of the best cities I've seen, clean , beautiful, very multi cultural large Asian and Latino communities, about the same cost of living as seattle
+1 on Vancouver.
Cordova street is the most recommended one.
I can't believe canada just got compared to India lol
Desperate people have desperation in their prose.
As a tech worker I’d argue that you would live a far more comfortable lifestyle in India as compared to Canada. I’m with OP on this one: India >>> Canada
oh Canada 🇨🇦
Welcome to communist Canada. Worst developed nation. So glad I left.
Thanks for the post, OP and Sorry you had go through it. I’m Canada PR and to keep it active we need to move before end of this year. We’re in dilemma - I don’t think having a PR is a backup because we cannot move back and forth between 2 countries with family. Can I DM you with my scenarios hoping it would help me to take a decision ?
Stay and get citizenship. Then relocate to wherever you want to relocate. Use the Canadian passport to the fullest.
You must not be American. We look up to our best friend up North. If Canada is bad it’s probably because of toxic fucks like you. Nice try, troll. India is much better? I want some of what you are smoking, it must be pretty good.
Even Canadians leave their country to work in the US LOL. No need to be a weird white knight. And I know several people saving more in India than in Canada.
What OP doesn't get and neither does Amazon here is that life is not just about how much you save every month and is not even about how much you can afford every month. Building a stable, happy society is a strategic goal that well-developed countries aspire to. Tell me more about how it looks like in India.
I mean it's better for folks from less developed countries. Every country doesn't work for everyone, immigrate to the one that works for you
Yeah. I also think Canada is going to be a "less developed" country preeetty soon too.
And will be renamed to Khali-nada
