I see that Capital One is hiring a lot of folks from top tech companies like Google, Amazon, Uber, PayPal etc. How’s the tech culture there? Would you recommend to non-banking folks?
5hr per week if you in right team. Base Pay is good for life
5hr per week no way now lol instant PiP
I got away with like 10hrs of actual work a week last year, but they PIP’ed a lot of people so I am probably on the bottom of the stack rank now.
It's getting worse as we hire those googlers and banana munchers
It’s getting worse. More and more towards Amazon & PIP culture, but not so much reflection in $$ Culture is getting worse everywhere in general. But at least other companies pay well, unlike Capital One. At the end of the day it’s a bank, not a tech company. If someone is coming in as D+ then it’s a different story. More scope. Decent pay.
c1 always had pip tho
What’s director of PM pay like at C1? I’m in DC area and only making around 250-260k tc depending on how my equity turns out
Who on earth is going from Google, Amazon, Uber to capital one?? I assume you mean at the director+ level where they can get more scope at Cap1? Your typical IC at these places isn’t even considering Cap1 as a place to work.
They get upleveled and given a remote exception so they can work from vegas
Yep, remote and D+ is at least 400K, a very good deal for being remote, many do take it, and we in fact have too many ex fang now. Also most of it is base pay which many would see as a plus, benefits like 401K are also above average, put 6% get 13.5% total. I’ve seen some Apple Staff make 450K and have to work in HCOL, this is also what I see in levels fyi. Of course many would take it
Following
I was in Oracle and work for google team (open source), I won’t put google over oracle because oracle is paying me
It’s not laid back anymore, that’s certain, however it can be team dependent, some teams definitely are still laid back
Don’t apply see desudesudesu.io
Toxic af
My co-worker says it’s very laid back. Says they do 25-50% of the work we do at Amazon
