I didn’t see this posted earlier and had to post because it surprised me (link below). 55% of women are now in support of socialism. We are becoming a country of individuals that take our situation for granted. But.. it’s a conversation we must have as the false promises of socialism are growing in the states. Women and other groups are told consistently that they cannot achieve something due to a personal attribute outside of their control...or the glass ceiling..and this leads to the thought that government can be the answer.. which ironically, only leads to the inability to economically grow in a socialist society. The beauty of capitalism in America is that it limits the power of others in your personal outcome. Is there racism? Sexism? Homophobia? Absolutely. There will always be people in the wrong. Are any of these significant enough in today’s society that it will affect your ability to be personally successful? Absolutely not. We can do our best to speak against it without undermining the economic system that provides the best opportunity for all individuals. Capitalism takes the chains off of the biggest factor in your success. YOU. You decide how hard you want to work, to learn, and to grow in order to change your situation. There is not a single person, with an able mind, in the United States today that has a glass ceiling. I wanted to take the opportunity to state we have something great... let’s not screw it up with empty promises from politicians. Signed, A very thankful person with Cerebral Palsy that has been given the opportunity to excel in a wonderful country. https://www.axios.com/axios-hbo-poll-55-percent-women-prefer-socialism-f70bf87e-34fd-4b63-b1f6-2f2b6900f634.html
Women are not why socialism ideas become popular. It’s ridiculous to blame them for this idiocy
I’m guessing that was a reply to sociabank
What do you call socialism? The last time socialists took power in my country they nationalized the banks and major corporations. That is way closer to what socialism is. What sanders talks about is universal health care, a free education and a living wage. This is what every industrialized non- socialist country has except for us!
I consider socialism to be a system where an individual pays more to the government than themselves.. Universal healthcare, “free” education and a “living” wage guarantee that. Are we going to be ok with people making 40k a year to be taxed at 70%? Because that is the only way a system like this can somewhat sustain itself.. even though the system is financially failing in every country that you would use as an example
A country where half the population is in debt or has less than 1k in savings is not free of metaphorical chains. Also, “sitting on the sidelines” = funding both political parties, think tanks, lobbyists and pushing favorable legislation? 🤔
Citing Marx?
The OP mentioned chains, so it was pretty easy to make the reference.
Ha no.. instead of lobbyists lobbying for influence.. you would prefer a central power that uses the worst sins known to man to continue to have that power. More people have died under the idea of Marxism than any other ideology
Nobody want to kill capitalism you fucking idiot. People want to be treated fairly. Minimum wage is not fair. Profiting obscene amounts from underpaid labor and buying politicians to make sure it continues is pure evil. Fuck you and your socialism bullshit. Eat shit and die.
Ofc women prefer socialism... they look for security. Problem with today is that men and women think different fundamentally, and men are becoming more and more feminine and think they can retain a woman’s attention by following their lead. lol, men have become so pathetic. This is what happens when the highest average earners are nerds who don’t know what women really want...
You seem to be suggesting that women are incapable of leading.. which was the exact opposite of my point.. Power concentrated is power abused. So capitalism is the best way to economically decentralize power
Yes I am saying that. Look at the women who chase after becoming leaders - they all seem mentally unstable. I’m not talking about your simple IT manager, I’m talking about the same moron who destroyed Yahoo with her stupid policies. And why did she get away with it? P* pass man. My girlfriend tells me all the time how difficult it is to work with women. Because, women’s nature is to be indirect about things and avoid conflict. Why do you think there’s so much political drama in the workplace these days? Do you think it’s fair for a woman’s rollercoaster of emotions to effect the future of the company? Of course I’m generalizing and there are exceptions, but the majority of women haven’t gone through menopause yet. If I’m offensive I apologize but this is my observation of the world and it helps me understand why people are so miserable these days.
