A year old car and all I need is oil change. Honda Service is charging me $400 with a big list of items to be checked. I feel it's a scam, should I go to a random oil shop to get the oil changed? Or is there a danger and better to get everything checked by the authorized service shop? Items in the checklist include Brakes check Light check Electricity circuit check Blah blah
Its all scam. For 1 year old car, you dont need any services other than oil change. How many miles you got on this car?
11k miles
You can go to other honda dealer and ask them for oil change.
Don’t take cars to the dealer
There's a reason they call them stealerships.
Scam.
Stop going to a dealership for servicing lol
It's ok to go to the dealership for service. However, you shouldn't be paying that much for an 11k service. You need a oil change and a tire rotation. Depending on the vehicle and whether or not you have a coupon (which you can find on their website), you should be paying between $40-$90 for a Synthetic oil change.
Thanks for the replies! Will the warranty void or something if I put regular synthetic oil from jiffy lube? Also where do you guys get your car's tire pressure etc checked?
any licensed mechanic can service your car without voiding warranty. main thing is oil change. brake check, light check, etc are visual, they're not removing anything or running diagnostics.
Is a 220$ charge for a service at 50k miles good? It includes Oil change Fuel system treatment Premium oil conditioner Crank case cleaning Tire rotation
Just go to jiffy lube or grease monkey. Dealers can fuck off
I get my oil change from Walmart. No complaint
Before you walked into the Honda dealership, were you aware of anything wrong with your car? Either way, $400 seems a bit steep.
No known problems with the car.
