(Hope everyone is staying safe.) I don't have any formal computer science education (I did my Master's in a pure science branch) but I have been working at Amazon for almost 7 years. I have always had interest in computer languages, starting from Logo, Basic Pascal, C++ to Scala, Haskell, Clojure, Rust. It seems my educational background is hurting my career progression. I was hired for AWS but moved to retail to be able to spend more time with family. That also might be a reason why I can't seem to find good teams since everyone wants cloud experience these days. Got Google HC approval but no team match yet. 1. Will it help if I do MS in CS or Data Science ? 2. Should I leave software industry ? 3. Any other suggestions ? Thanks for your help Blind. If it seems everyone wants cloud experience, how does getting a MS help directly solve that?
It won't replace cloud experience but may be it'll improve my chances. It's the best I can think of right now.
Whats stopping you from learning cloud technology?
