I a SMTS who works remote with Vmware-CIBG BU. I've been presented with a fully remote job opportunity from a stable, relatively small firm(~200 ppl) with very good tech stack. Although the compensation offered is 20% lower than my current VMware salary, the offer remains open only for a duration of 30 days. The dilemma I face is whether to proceed with the switch at this point or wait until September 15th to collect the bonus or wait until potential layoff with possible severance package. What would be the recommended course of action in this situation? #misc
Nobody’s job is safe. If you have something take it AND start as soon as you can. Your offer can be revoked if you give a start date that’s too far out. If I were you, I’d work 2 jobs, take the bonus, the severance if you get it and then leave
