I currently work at Boeing as an Aircraft Test Technician. I want to become a Full Stack Developer at Disney. I took a coding boot camp with Coding Dojo where I learned three languages: Python, Java, and MERN/JavaScript. Any advice as to how I can make this career change?
It will be easier to be a software engineer in Boeing first. Then, you can leetcode, build side project and move to Disney.
Full stack is a fairly common swe job and the competition will be fierce. Focus on getting an entry level / junior position *anywhere*, build up your chops and experience, and keep checking for potential opportunities at Disney. May take a few years altogether but if you're focused on the long game there's no reason this wouldn't work out.
Hey, Disney engineering is an absolute shitshow right now (and has been for some time, and…honestly the whole company). I’d advise you to focus on finding an internship or junior engineering position elsewhere and applying to Disney in 3-5 years when you have more experience in the field. But honestly…terrible company to work for.
Try a software engineering project @ Boeing. I realize their pay is not great. You will be relate to work better
Leetcode and build a unique project
