Carrier Unlocking work phone

I left my old company last summer and forgot to return my work phone. When I reached out to my old manager about returning it, he didn’t care since the phone expense was coming out of another teams expense. It’s been half a year and no one has reached out about it. It’s a pretty sweet phone - iPhone 13 pro and I’d like to swap my personal iPhone 11s SIM card into it. However - the work phone is carrier locked with AT&T while my personal phone is with TMobile. I reached out to AT&T to unlock it and pay off the contract but since I’m not an authorized user - there was no luck. Any advice on how to unlock the IPhone. I’d rather pay off the remaining $120 bucks on the contract then paying $800 for a new iPhone, but can’t. I know - I’m cheap but hey it’s showtime and do more with less season TC 200k

You are not only cheap but also a criminal. You stole company property.

He checked in with his manager who told him to keep it. Most companies don't want back used phones.

Calm down mate it’s not like I held up my IT department at gunpoint for their stash of phones. Amy would be ashamed of you wasting resources like this

How do you know it's got $120 left? Is it being paid off still and the balance is lower every month? If so, wait until it's paid off and it will unlock itself.

Pretty sure it’s not being paid off anymore and that there’s a balance on it - $120 was a guess based off of the monthly payments and length of ownership

After a while, it’s unlocked by company. Try doing it first and see.

Just switch to AT&T network instead of T-Mobile . Problem solved
