Wondering how people feel about the NYTimes article that came out last night on Carta. Seeing some posts conflicting with what was mentioned in the article already by a Carta employee on LinkedIn. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-6706013198711173121-GYxT #tech #carta #nytimes
How are benefits like at Carta, like 401K match, do they have fitness fund, mobile bill reimbursement etc
Everything is awesome, including the benefits. Unlimited vacation (3 week minimum), and all the great perks tech companies offer. Don’t listen to the hate, every company has some rough edges; we will work through these and we actually have an opportunity to make an impact and shed light on inequalities.
There are many awesome parts of the culture at Carta and there are many things that are disappointing. Not only does the article do a poor job describing the culture (even the negative side) but it is also full of things that are clearly untrue. Don’t believe me? Notice how the article mentions that “hire fast fire fast” was something that was only said privately. Then literally google Carta Hiring 101 or Carta hire fast fire fast and you will see a very public article from Carta posted 4 years ago talking about how this was a core element of our hiring philosophy. That’s just the tip of the untruths in this article 😂😂😂
Be very wary, the kool-aid is very strong here and saying anything even slightly negative about the company will get a lot of people coming after you saying spiteful things. Read the reviews on blind, don't look at the star rating.
What do you not like? Thinking of joining
Disagree with this comment for sure... my experience the past almost 3 years has been pretty great, minus some corporate shit.. this comment may just have a shitty manager or something. Probably worth messaging the people that would be on your team to see what it’s actually like. I can tell you that carta is a great company. The amount of positive benefits we have, I believe people take for granted.

Crossed a line with my boss
It wasn't the juicy hit-piece I was promised. In seriousness, I think Carta does a lot for its employees. As with anywhere though, your experience at a company is mostly shaped by your team and managers. So far, my direct and indirect managers are excellent--they've insulated reports, highlighted accomplishments company-wide, and really listened and acted on any issues raised.
So typical anti-tech hate from the news?
Yep, also heard that the Head of Liquidity Solutions (‘Walne’) may not have been licensed to do her job which is concerning. They must have left that part out to focus on the “more important” things
