What should I expect in terms of difficulty here? Should I go over the LC’s tagged as paypal? Is there any subject they really like to ask that I should brush up on. Tagging paypal since braintree doesnt show up on blind
Which office are you interviewing for?
Austin office
Obviously I can’t speak for every Braintree interviewer or interviewee, but I didn’t get any LC-style questions
- deep dive of past project - lunch interview - pair programming where you'll add a feature to the take home interview challenge - system design - chat with hiring manager I work at BT. I'd like to think we are all good people and hopefully whoever is interviewing you is nice and welcoming. Good luck!
Should I expect the added feature to include multithreading? From interviewing with other payment/fintech companies this seems to be a common theme
Nope
OP, how was your experience?
Didnt get the position but the experience was good. Simple system design question then a very in depth conversation about experience. No ruby on rails exp so maybe thats why but maybe I didnt go in depth enough in either the system design or technical convo.
Late update but I wanted to add that the coding part is a continuation of the take home task. It is easy and writing tests will help you cover all cases. Make sure you write tests they are heavy on TDD
Good guy op helping others. That's great.
Did you ever leave cog?
Yes, I’m at a real estate tech company now. It’s possible!
Nice, congrats
@op - I have an interview with one of the teams at Braintree for an SDE role. Can you DM as I have no blind credits ? I have few questions

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Based on my experience interviewing there, there was a project evaluation, followed by a pair programming session onsite. Onsite there was also a system design and a deep dive on a project from past experience. They have an excellent process and your recruiter should thoroughly guide you at each step. It was also my only interview from where I received good feedback from the onsite experience. Hope someone from Braintree can give you more objective info. Good luck.
Do you currently work at Braintree?
Nope, at PP, got turned down at BT.
