I am a Nigerian Software developer and November makes it a complete 3 years of an active job experience. I have started my tech career in 2017, but I officially started my career in 2018, I worked for as a tech instructor for kids program over time, I moved into working for a German startup, it didn’t quite work out as COVID took shape, that was in 2019-2020 May, I got a small paying onsite job in Nigeria, it also didn’t put much on my table but gave me a room to learn, by November 2020, I got a remote role as a fullstack MERN stack Engineer, the pay is been less than 700USD going by my skill set and experience, November this year makes me a year in this firm. I also work as a tech lead for a team trying to put smiles to the lives of people living with disabilities who are in the tech space. Although, I don’t get paid for this, but we need to always give to the community. My current challenges, I need to leave Nigeria as EU jobs that should pay better always require I am within the EU and got a work permit, but, Visas are not really granted this days, I was supposed to maybe try United Arab Emirates since EU is not really working, but, I’m less than 35 and visas only granted for those above the age of 35 for Nigerians. Everything visa kinda of difficult everywhere. I have not stopped applying for job roles for my stack, but, the location is been a problem. A very useful advise of way ahead could help me push up. Thanks#engineering #software
You forgot the part where we can send you $$$
Nooo, I’m looking for a new role not money.. I need to work to earn . I am experienced but underpaid due to my location. And with due respect, I’m kind of proud to say I know my worth
